What Can I Expect During My First Visit to a Chiropractor?

At SC Sports Therapy you can expect to complete a medical history and "new patient" paperwork. You will then consult with the doctor. This consultation is your opportunity to express your health concerns and expectations, and to ask any questions you may have pertaining to the matter. It is also for the doctor to express his role in your health care and discuss the current statis of your health. A physical exam will be performed and include a posture examination, orthopedic testing, neurological testing, followed by a detailed Chiropractic examination of your spine, and/or injuried joint(s). In some cases x-rays may be necessary to determine an exact diagnosis, especially if there has been acute trauma. Next your doctor will go over the results of the exam and x-rays with you, and give you his best recomendations for your health care. Once the patient understands what their problem is and what their treatment plan will consist of, the doctor will begin treatment. Following the first treatment home care information will be given, and your next appointment will be scheduled.
